For over 40 years, The Irish Setter Club of Minnesota (ISCM) has supported its mission to protect and advance the interests of the Irish Setter breed, to promote quality in the breeding of purebred Irish Setters, and to educate members of the Club and the general public on the history and development of the Irish Setter.
The American Kennel Club (AKC) standard describes the Irish Setter as "an active, aristocratic bird dog, rich red in color, substantial yet elegant in build. Standing over two feet tall at the shoulder, the dog has a straight, fine, glossy coat, longer on ears, chest, tail and back of legs. Afield, the Irish Setter is a swift-moving hunter; at home, a sweet natured, trainable companion."
ISCM members enjoy the company of Irish Setters as family members, hunting companions, in the show ring at dog shows, and at field, agility and obedience trials.
If you love and admire these dogs as much as we do, we invite you to join us!
